Ordia Creative is seeking a Web Designer to work in a fast-moving and innovative environment, collaborating on a wide range of projects across all aspects of website building and design for clients from commercial, industrial and public-sector backgrounds.
  • Attending project meetings with other team members and clients / other stakeholders to make design recommendations
  • Working closely with the Senior Design Manager to ensure briefs are met and sign-offs are agreed before go-live dates
  • Ensuring designs consistently comply with user experience best practices
  • Ensuring stakeholders are kept aware of design best practices
  • Creating visual design concepts to include mock-ups of microsites, banners and web pages
  • Using HTML5 and CSS3 to hand-code web pages and microsites
  • Updating live pages
  • Developing template designs in accordance with brand guidelines and design principles
  • Carrying out browser and device testing before go-live dates
  • Supporting the wider design team when necessary
  • Have significant proven experience as a front-end web designer / developer
  • Combine creative design with technical skills
  • Be proficient in hand-coded HTML5 and CSS3 and the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Have significant experience of working with hand-coded responsive web design (without the use of a framework)
  • Have a good understanding of the principles of mobile first development (progressive enhancement rather than graceful degradation)
  • Have a good understanding of responsive web design principles, web accessibility and usability standards
  • Be able to clearly and confidently communicate technical and design issues to clients and other stakeholders
